From early childhood, Rebecca encountered supernatural events that ranged from beautiful to traumatic. These powerful experiences not only shaped her unwavering belief in a living God but also added a powerful layer of authenticity to her debut novel, Sons of God. Readers resonated with her story, often expressing how the novel had aided them in their own spiritual healing. Initially pursuing a Pre-Archaeology degree in college, Rebecca sought answers from ancient and modern times, trying to understand the existence of the extraordinary entities she had encountered throughout her life. This commitment to research led her to develop compelling theories and uncover long-hidden mysteries that enrich her narrative and invite readers to reflect on their own spiritual journeys.

Throughout her life, she’d go to older believers asking for help in understanding her spiritual experiences or with questions about why the church did one thing while the Bible said to do something else, but none of them had real answers or experiences themselves. After she put out her novels, she realized there were many like her. Now, she hopes to help all in like manner who’ve had supernatural encounters or question why their religion is different from what their scriptures say. She realized she could be for others what no one could be for her.

Rebecca Ellen Kurtz’s Sons of God novel was heralded a new genre for incorporating both a fiction story and supporting archaeological research on the theological mysteries of the Nephilim. She included the research because she wanted to allow readers to decide for themselves what they believed, making it a bestseller on Amazon’s Kindle in March of 2009.

From Whence She Cometh

Rebecca Ellen Kurtz was born in the rural South, where her father, always a fount of wisdom, consistently directed her to seek answers from the Heavenly Father instead of any human. Her mother, a “hunk of love who walks around,” encouraged her artistic abilities, self-sacrificial love, and to follow Jesus’s example. Her loving, supportive family, which included three older sisters, ran a farm where Rebecca often created fantastical worlds amongst the combines, tractors, and barns.

Beginning in childhood, Yahweh and Jesus spoke to Rebecca, helping her with her supernatural experiences. They protected her, guided her, and gave her answers. In high school, they began pointing out discrepancies between what they told their followers in the scriptures and what is taught among believers. Throughout her international travels to historic sites, she saw things that triggered more questions needing answers and learned to go to the source of scriptures rather than later translations and interpretations.

She never dreamed of being a novelist, but upon the recommendation of several, she turned her archeological script Sons of God into a novel, which landed her on twenty-two radio interviews, including ESPN. As she began book tours, many reached out for spiritual help, with stories of their own encounters, and to request speaking engagements. Within a year, soldiers emailed her of creatures they encountered in Afghan tunnels; mercenaries raised on secret military bases contacted her questioning their inhuman qualities; and descendants of Area 51 scientists shared pictures of aliens they’d found in inherited storage units.

Rebecca’s life turned completely upside down. Not only did she not believe in aliens at the time, but she naively exposed darkness without thinking they would retaliate. Rebecca wanted a break from the supernatural world, not to be more deeply thrown into it. When a pastor, whose dream was to see angels and demons, confronted Rebecca about her selfish request for a break from witnessing the spiritual realm, she humbled herself and knelt in repentance. In that moment of sincerity, she prayed earnestly for God to once again unveil the spiritual war, and Jesus replied…

Angels and demons are a distraction. The war is deception. I will show you the war. — Jesus

Over the next fifteen years, Yahweh and Jesus stretched Rebecca’s beliefs and faith. As new situations arose, more research and answers were needed. As new levels of darkness fought against her, more lessons on spiritually protecting oneself were learned.

During some of the darkest struggles, Rebecca took down all five novels in the Sons of God saga. But, as she was led to write her memoir, she began to heal. Rebecca had no idea how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects one’s brain, but she learned, as well as how to heal it. As she recovered, Yahweh and Jesus told her it was time to re-edit the Sons of God series, adding the new revelations she’d learned. They also inspired her with other plots and storylines for the future, but first, she needed to redo Sons of God.
